Well, there are two ways I know and have succeeded so far:
- Follow this instructions: http://www.xs4all.nl/~carlo17/howto/undelete_ext3.html
- the other way is to scan the partition/drive for file signatures with PhotoRec, as found on the SystemRescueCD
